Breaking - Israeli Ground Forces Invade Gaza

[Footage of Israeli invasion from MSNBC]

News organizations report that Israeli ground forces entered Gaza Saturday night, following eight days of aerial attacks.  According to a spokeswoman with the Israeli Defense Forces:

"The goal is to try and take over some of those launching areas that were responsible for the many [rocket and mortar] launches -- the thousands of launches, in fact -- toward the Israeli civilians."

Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak announced: "This will not be short. This will not be easy. I do not wish to delude anyone."

Israel has dropped leaflets warning Palestinians to leave areas in northern Gaza.

All of which means that the humanitarian situation in Gaza - already verging on catastrophe - is about to get far, far worse.

My sympathies aren't with the Israeli Government, or Hamas, both of whom seem content to continue their dances with the devil.   There are approximately 1.4 million people in Gaza, who stand to suffer a great deal over the coming days, even more than they already have; Israeli citizens in southern Israel will also live under increased threat of attack.   For all their sakes, I just pray that this ends soon.

Will update on the humanitarian situation as more information emerges.

end the isreali attacks on gaza and end the blockade;then and only then,if the rocket attacks on isreal continue it would be reasonable for isreal to take action to stop them.

Look at Pakistan; they never invaded Pakistan, or retaliated. And you know how many people died in the aftermath of the Mumbai attack? None, because Pakistan chose the wise route not to do anything, but to secure their own country.

They dropped leaflets to leave northern Gaza..Where are they going to go? Gaza is one of the most dense places in the world.

Gaza could recieve so much more aid if Egypt opened their border, and allowed all this aid from neighboring Arab countries and Iran.
