Jewschool.com and Mah Rabu are hosting an Israeli elections pool. It's a survey that lists all the political parties competing for seats in the Knesset - including those with no real chance. To participate, you have to enter the number of seats each party will win. It's fun! We'll know the results on February 11th.

Participate in the pool here.

You can see a list of all the parties currently in the Knesset with a brief description over here.

Some folks might not know, but the so called Arab parties in the Knesset all have at least a few Jewish members and voters. This is especially true of Hadash, which defines itself as a 'Jewish-Arab' party, and has a Jew serving as one of three elected MK's. Balad was founded by a former Communist and Hadash activist who left to found a more radical alternative - that included Jews. Balad has always had a consistent group of Jews who feel that Hadash was not worthy of their loyalty. Some of them support a one state solution, others had bad experiences with Hadash. Finally, Ta'al, the United Arab List recieved some hundreds of Jewish votes last time around. I'm kind of stumped about that. If anybody knows for sure why, please let me know!
