Three Aid Workers Killed in the Central African Republic

Published September 27, 2009 @ 08:26PM PT

Three aid workers with the Italian NGO Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI) were killed last week in the Central African Republic.

According to Patronus Analytical: "Two aid workers with an Italian NGO were killed on 21 September in the Central African Republic when Lord's Resistance Army rebels attacked their vehicle on the Banqui to Obo road."

A third aid worker later died of his wounds.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and colleagues of Claude Nzapaoko Porcel, Jean Jacques Namkoisse and Adramane Abdel Karim.

Overall, four aid workers have been killed since January in the Central African Republic.

Worldwide, ninety-three aid workers have been killed so far this year.
